About Me

Numra Yaqub, LMHC

Licensed Mental Health Counselor

Picture Of Me

Hello and Welcome! My name is Numra Yaqub. I am originally from New Jersey, where I obtained my Bachelor’s in Psychology at Stockton University. I then moved to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania to obtain my Master’s degree in Counseling and Human Services at Lehigh University. During my time in the Lehigh Valley area, I worked at an inpatient psychiatric facility, where I began to gain experience in working with children, adolescents, and adults with a mental health diagnosis. During that time, I also completed my internship at Kutztown University, providing counseling services to college students.

Upon graduating from Lehigh University in 2016, I made a cross-country trip to Florida to begin my career as a Master-level mental health professional. Since then, I have continued to grow, and my resume is colored with a wide range of jobs—from working with children and adolescents, to university students at the University of South Florida’s Counseling Center, to a private practice in Fort Myers, and now I have transitioned into my private practice in Naples, Florida.

I look forward to helping you work towards the fulfillment and balance you deserve.

Counseling Approach

My theoretical orientation is integrated. I utilize Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Exposure Therapy, Mindfulness, Person-Centered Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. I also utilize Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) for trauma, grief, and loss. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, I am here to help and support you to live your life authentically and cope with life challenges.

My style is warm and welcoming, and together we will create a safe space where you are heard, valued, and at times, appropriately challenged. I can help guide you to a place of healing that includes self-awareness, self-compassion, and self-care.

“What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.”

‐ Ralph Waldo Emerson

Personal Statement

I value self-care. I see myself as a growth-oriented individual, who is continuing to blossom each day. I am currently in the process of obtaining my doctorate degree in psychology. As I live up to my full potential, I want to help you live up to yours as well. Because... You Matter.
